Beware Of That Wiley Beguiler

, ,

The Liar’s farce: that “God is far!”
Give lie to this big lie (1)
A dart from hell! “Immanuel”…

Is faithfully
And lovingly
Nearby

The Liar blares, “God does not care!”
Contest this wicked jest
Remember Him who wept much where…

They’d laid His friend
Poor Lazarus
To rest

The Liar vents, “Your God’s against you!”
Cry “Foul” to that foul creep
Preach loud that God is “with” and “for” us…

His strength He sends
And gently mends
His sheep

The Liar riles, “God never smiles!”
Out-laugh this silly gaff
Recall the One Whom children loved…

Such tales He’d spin
The while, He’d grin
And laugh

The “father of fibs” will twist the truth (2)
His “native tongue” is lies

But Truth Incarnate, Jesus Christ

Now deftly beguiles

The Beguiler’s wiles

And defends us by deaf’ning his cries
